In addition to being one of my favorite holidays, Halloween is a great opportunity to dress up in costume and have a little fun, even in the work place. This year, the Department of Commerce hosted its first annual Halloween costume contest on Thursday, Oct. 31st. Commerce associates were dressed head-to-toe in some awesome costumes.

It was fun to participate in the festivities this year. We had a good showing from our Commerce team across-the-board, but a few stood out and brought home some special awards. This year, we recognized winners in the following categories:
Most Creative: Barbara Strecker-Gaudreau - Miss Spice Girl!
Funniest: Dustin Gale and his Bull Oscar!
Cutest: Sandy Brown - Our 50’s Diner Waitress!
Most Original: Jordan Bickford - Her version of our Chief Counsel, Bob North!
Best Makeup: Dixie Cravens - Wicked Witch of the West!
Best Group Costume: Rosanne Arellano & Haley Gray - Lobster lover and the Lobster!
Least Effort: Joy Hamsher - Fork in the Road!
Best Homemade: Ginny Eardley - Miss Pinata
I am proud of the showing from the first Halloween costume contest at the Department of Commerce. Working in a positive environment and participating in fun holiday activities is always a joy. And any day you can come to work dressed as the Monopoly Man and still get work done is a good day in my book. Shout-out to Ryan Brinker for the image below:
I hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween!
