Baker University National 2025

Offered by: Baker University |

Deadline/Expiration: January 3, 2025 —

Baker University is inviting national artists to apply to the Baker National (February 7–March 28, 2025) held in the Holt-Russell Gallery on the campus of Baker University. All mediums are welcome except installation pieces and time-based pieces (videos, music, etc.). Best in Show receives 500.00 and a solo show in the Holt Russell Gallery during academic year 2024-25. Other awards are to be given at juror discretion.

The Holt-Russell Gallery is a place for student, regional and national contemporary artists to show their work in a gallery setting, serving as an educational experience for the Baker University Art Program and for the Douglas County community.

About the Juror:

Trish VanOsdel lives and works in Wichita, Kansas. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas, and a Master of Fine Arts from Alfred University, in Alfred, New York. Trish is a sculptor and co-owner of Reuben Saunders Gallery in Wichita, Kansas. Her abstract and conceptual work often broaches subjects such as loss, consumption, and the human condition using a wide range of materials as well as found objects. Having a foot in both the artist and gallery arenas gives her a different perspective and she aspires to pass on that knowledge to others.
