All applications must be submitted via an online form: 


This program provides funding to established arts organizations to provide mentorship and related services to emerging arts organizations, councils, and collectives. The goal of the program is to encourage professional and organizational development, establish peer networks, and reach underserved communities and non-traditional organizational structures.


  • Established arts non-profits (501c3). Non-Kansas mentor organizations will be considered on a case by case basis.
  • Arts divisions of local government


  • Emerging arts 501c3s
  • Emerging Arts Councils
  • Artist Collectives
  • Artist-run spaces


Eligible Projects must

  • Demonstrate the creation of a meaningful partnership between an established arts organization and an emerging organization
  • Primarily benefit the partner organization
  • Result in an initial sustainability plan by the partner organization

Eligible expenses provided to mentees may include:

  • Staff time
  • Venue/facility rental
  • General operating expenses
  • Artist fees
  • Supplies and materials
  • Travel expenses

Project expenses may not include

  • Food
  • Receptions / Galas / fundraisers
  • construction costs, permanent improvements to a facility, or improvements that increase the value of the property.
  • Insurance and legal fees
  • purchases of individual items worth $5,000 or higher.
  • Honorariums (artists and contractors must be paid as fees for services rendered.)
  • Please see guidelines and NEA website for additional federal cost principals and unallowable expenses.




dollar for dollar (1:1)
The total project cost must be at least twice the amount of the grant request.
In-kind non-monetary donations may be counted as 100% of the required match
