Artist INC

 

Artist INC is a cutting edge training program that empowers individual artists in all disciplines to take control of their careers by connecting them to the tools, resources, and opportunities necessary to develop their entrepreneurial skills and strengthen their artistic practice. Through its partnership with Mid-America Arts Alliance, KCAIC is making the following Artist Inc programs available to Kansas artists in these communities and surrounding areas:

What works workshop - Wichita

What Works Workshops, a program of Artist Inc, are a presentation sharing the successful behaviors of artist entrepreneurs. Kate Van Steenhuyse of Harvester Arts will present this session which gives an overview of strategies for creatives to grow their art business and sustain an art practice. The presentation is about 60 minutes, with time for questions following.

Artist Inc Live - Wichita 2020

Limited to 25 participants per session, artists gather for one night a week for eight weeks to learn business skills specific to their art practice and apply those skills cooperatively with their peers. Using an innovative class design, artists learn and grow together through artist facilitator mentoring, small group application activities, as well as large group discussion and multi-media lectures. Now in its eleventh, the Artist INC workshop has been completed by more than 1300 regional artists. Artist INC Wichita is hosted by Harvester Arts and supported in part by Mid-America Arts Alliance, The Kansas Creative Industries Commission, The National Endowment for the Arts and individuals throughout Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas.

DATES & LOCATION
This session will run on eight consecutive Tuesday evenings from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm from May 12, 2020 - June 30, 2020. Sessions will take place at Harvester Arts, 215 Washington N, Wichita, KS 67202.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must complete the online application form, answer the narrative questions and submit a resume/CV and digital work samples. All applications must be made online through Submittable.com during the open application period.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and live within an 80-mile radius of Wichita, KS. Students are ineligible to apply.
If you are selected to participate in Artist INC, there is a $150 fee. Even with the participant fee, the program is heavily subsidized. As a result of this subsidization, participants are required to attend all sessions of the workshop, barring illness or emergency. Please review the schedule to be sure that you are available for all of the sessions:
