The two-year term will begin January 1, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAssistant Secretary Godinez\u2019s election to the IEDC board truly is a win for Kansas,\u201d <strong>\u30c7\u30d3\u30c3\u30c9\u30fb\u30c8\u30fc\u30e9\u30f3\u30c9\u526f\u77e5\u4e8b\u517c\u5546\u52d9\u9577\u5b98\u306f\u6b21\u306e\u3088\u3046\u306b\u8ff0\u3079\u305f\u3002<\/strong>. \u201cHis strong leadership and expertise will ensure our state is at the forefront of national economic development conversations, positioning us to attract investments, create jobs and strengthen communities across the state.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Godinez was confirmed by the IEDC board during the organization\u2019s annual conference in Detroit on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a member of the board of directors, Godinez will help shape national and global strategies for economic growth, while bringing Kansas\u2019 priorities and perspectives to the table. His role will give Kansas a stronger voice in national discussions on community development, workforce readiness, rural prosperity and infrastructure investment. The position will open doors for Kansas communities to access best practices, strategic partnerships and funding opportunities that will accelerate local projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Godinez brings deep experience leading statewide initiatives that drive both economic vitality and quality of life. In his role at the Department of Commerce, he oversees programs such as Kansas Main Street, Community Development Block Grants, the Office of Rural Prosperity and the Office of Broadband Development \u2014 initiatives that have revitalized downtowns, expanded high-speed internet access, improved housing and strengthened community resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI am honored by the confidence the IEDC board has placed in me,\u201d <strong>Assistant Secretary Matt Godinez
