Basic projects that create at least ten new jobs in metropolitan areas, or at least five new jobs in non-metropolitan areas, within two years may be eligible for up to seven years of payroll withholding tax savings.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Larger, high-impact projects that create at least 100 new jobs within two years may be eligible for up to ten years of payroll withholding tax savings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-who-can-qualify\">Who Can Qualify<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Existing Kansas Businesses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New Startups<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Out-of-State Businesses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>International Business<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Non-profit Headquarters Locations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-general-eligibility-requirements\">General Eligibility Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Qualified companies must meet program requirements, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be a for-profit entity with a qualifying NAICS code, or a not-for-profit entity headquartered in Kansas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be creating new jobs in Kansas resulting from locating, relocating or expanding a business<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meet minimum employment requirements (at least ten new metro jobs or five new non-metro jobs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must pay wages that meet or exceed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kansascommerce.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/County-Median-Wages-Attachment-A-7-1-2025.pdf\">county&#8217;s median wage<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must provide adequate health care coverage for full-time employees and pay at least 50% of the health insurance premium<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must submit an application and be approved for benefits by the Secretary of Commerce<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-application-fees\">Application Fees<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PEAK Applications require a&nbsp;non-refundable&nbsp;$750 fee for each applicant entity to complete the applications. Additional fees will apply for electronic payments.
