River Cow alters the traditional conventions of jazz. Our music philosophy focuses on collective improvisation, similar to the New Orleans Jazz parades, paying attention to how each band member interacts with the group as a whole. New music, created in the moment, sensual, soulful, relaxing, chill groove. River Cow Orchestra ~ 21st century collective jazz improvisation.

Primary Program Description

River Cow Orchestra performed over 50 shows in and around Kansas City in 2018. We provide instrumental music with a jazzy flair. We are a 5 piece music ensemble.

Program Fee
  • $500 for a three hour performance within 75 miles of Kansas City area.
  • Performances farther than 76 – 150 miles from Kansas City $800 for a 3 hour show
  • Performances farther than 150+ miles from Kansas City $1000 for a 3 hour show
Community Activity Information

We have performed at numerous community events, fund-raisers, art fairs, music festivals, community days, etc. Jazz is America’s music, it adds to the celebration at these festive activities.

Educational Activity Information

We can also do a master-class on collective improvisation or the history of jazz and the important role Kansas City played in the development of this American art form.
