Communities and projects located in Opportunity Zones are encouraged to apply for and participate in existing community and business programs, incentives, and funding which are compatible with the benefits of Opportunity Zone funding. The Kansas Opportunity Zones team is committed to providing information and access to these resources and are continuing to work with our partners to include additional resources as they become available.     • Opportunity and Revitalization Council Completed Federal Program Targeting Actions (Updated October 1, 2019)
    • U.S. Economic Development Administration EDAP2018 Under this Notice of Funding Opportunity, EDA solicits applications from applicants in rural and urban areas to provide investments that support construction, non-construction, technical assistance, and revolving loan fund projects under EDA’s Public Works and EAA programs. Grants and cooperative agreements made under these programs are designed to leverage existing regional assets and support the implementation of economic development strategies that advance new ideas and creative approaches to advance economic prosperity in distressed communities. EDA provides strategic investments on a competitive- merit-basis to support economic development, foster job creation, and attract private investment in economically distressed areas of the United States.

    • NetWork Kansas is growing an entrepreneurial environment in Kansas by cultivating resources to start and grow small businesses. NetWork Kansas is a statewide network of non-profit business-building resources that help entrepreneurs and small business owners startup and grow successful businesses.
    • Kansas Health Foundation envisions a culture in which every Kansan can make healthy choices where they live, work and play. They invest in ideas for healthier people and stronger communities. To realize its vision and mission, KHF invests in the following key program areas: Access to Care; Healthy Behaviors; Civic and Community Engagement; and Educational Attainment.
    • Kansas PRIDE The Kansas PRIDE Program is a partnership of K-State Research and Extension, the Kansas Department of Commerce, Kansas Masons and Kansas PRIDE, Inc. Kansas PRIDE is dedicated to serving communities across the state to encourage and assist local government and volunteers in making their community a better place to live and work.


    • Novogradac Opportunity Zone Mapping Tooldisplays designated qualified opportunity zones as published by the CDFI Fund as of June 15, 2018, as well as areas that may be eligible for OZ designation.
    • LOCUS - The LOCUS Opportunity Zone Navigator is an interactive mapping tool that allows users to search designated census tracts for transit, environmental, economic, housing, and affordability information. It is intended to guide Opportunity Zone stakeholders in better understanding the economic, environmental, demographic, housing, and infrastructure characteristics of a designated Opportunity Zone census tract and in turn, the type of development that will maximize public and private returns on investment and benefit the residents there.
    • Economic Innovation Group Interactive Map allows you see which communities have been designated as opportunity zones.
