Jason Turner, a Native American filmmaker and actor (Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation member) has been telling stories for over half of his life. As a filmmaker he has won awards from the LA Skins Fest and the Arts Council of Kansas City (ArtsKC). His films have screened at venues and festivals such as LA Skins Fest, Planet Comicon, Kansas City FilmFest International, NatiVisions, First City Film Festival, and Saint Louis Science Fiction & Fantasy Short Film Festival. His Iron Detective stories have screened on SkinsPlex and Xfinity Streampix. Jason has served on panels at Planet Comicon. As an actor, Jason (stage name Jason Jessepe) has received awards from Virgin Spring Cinefest, Cinema World Fest Awards, and Actors Awards. Finished with a Bachelor of Science in Digital Cinematography from Full Sail University in February of 2024, Jason is experienced at directing, producing, screenwriting, editing, and production design.

Jason has video clips and films that are fully produced and ready to present in front of classes and venues that have reasonably well maintained display and sound, such as a projector or LED video monitor. He can also be hired as a cinematographer, director, producer, or actor, or to teach a workshop on cinematography, directing, producing, or acting.

Varies depending on specific needs of client, travel distance, activities, scope, materials, participant number, mileage/transportation, and accommodations if reasonably required. Fee may include reasonable pay for assistant(s) or crew depending on needs. If rental vehicle is required to transport equipment, fee will be added. Screening/Exhibition: Depends on time usage, nonprofit or business, venue. Includes community components such as Q and A, panels, etc. $1500-$5000 For production of community-based or educational film/video projects: $1500 day rate. This does not include crew, additional equipment rental, location rental, costumes, etc., which will require additional fees. Pre production and post production are not included and would be priced separately depending on the scope of the project. Special speaking programs/presentations requiring added research and/or preparation (ie. moderating panel discussions, or speaking/presenting on specialized topics), will be priced on an individual basis. アーティスト・トーク・ワークショップ

1. Introduction into Filmmaking (multi-day) In this beginner friendly activity. If you’ve never picked up a camera, that’s fine. This is something that can appeal to new filmmakers as well as people just curious about the process.

2. Introduction to Cinematography Depending on the time allowance, this can be a presentation on setting up shots and/or a workshop with small groups of students setting up shots. Extra equipment will be needed for workshops (for example, lights and backdrops/sets). Students can use their own phone or tablet cameras.

3. Screen Acting In this course for actors, Jason will demonstrate his acting skills in two demonstration videos and discuss some of the techniques to getting actors camera ready and prepared. This can be primarily for beginners, but seasoned actors can also use this as a refresher and get an alternate perspective.
