Emmanuel Campos Perez and Serena Salerno are a two-person team of muralists from Wichita Kansas that has been producing public murals in the city for over nine years. Most of their artwork has been self-funded and done with the public interest at heart. They are committed to produce as much quality artwork for the public as they can regardless of obstacles, hoping to increase the exposure of street art and mural work.
Parez and Salerno are not just willing but eager to host conversations with the community to inform the public about the importance of having a vibrant public art culture in our cities and towns, the roots of large-scale murals and street art, and their impact on the youth and disadvantaged communities.
They can host improv workshops to teach spray paint as a medium for high quality muralism to anybody willing to learn.
This artist team believes murals are not means to an end. Instead, murals are the end themselves. The way they approach pricing has the quality of the final product as the priority.
They charge the cost of materials (spray paint, exterior paint, clear coat if needed, nozzles, brushes and rollers), the cost of their food and gas for the amount of days required to finish a mural. And for the cost of labor, they charge between of $10–$30 dollars per square foot, depending on the project.
