Born in 1994 in Chihuahua, Mexico, Deber began painting graffiti and murals at the age of 13 while simultaneously attending to classical training classes at a local atelier. What started as a form of self-expression quickly became a lifelong commitment to developing and pushing his craft. Practicing large scale muralism, graffiti painting and street art traveling across numerous cities in both Mexico and the U.S., painting walls, building connections, and refining his visual language.
He now lives and works in Wichita, Kansas. His work centers on compositions that blend abstract expressionism with figurative painting, blending elements of traditional realism, letterform abstraction, and expressionist plays on color values. Mix media as a preference: acrylics, oil, enamel mixtures, spray paint and airbrush are used to create layered compositions that evoke emotion, movement, and tension. A core focus of his work lies in bridging the worlds of professional muralism, portrait painting, fine arts and graffiti. While graffiti continues to carry social stigma, he does not shy away from it. Instead, he embraces it as a legitimate art form, challenging perceptions while staying true to the roots of his art.
This artist believes murals are not means to an end. Instead, murals are the end themselves. The way he approaches pricing has the quality of the final product as the priority.
He charges the cost of materials (spray paint, exterior paint, clear coat if needed, nozzles, brushes and rollers), the cost of his food and gas for the amount of days required to finish a mural. And for the cost of labor, he charges between of $10–$30 dollars per square foot, depending on the project.
