Acerca de

The award-winning Brazos Valley Boys (BVB) have a long and rich history. Started by Country Music Association Hall-of-Famer Hank Thompson, it is one of the premier western-swing bands in the country. Kansan Morey Sullivan worked as Hank’s band leader for many years and before Hank passed, requested Morey keep the band performing and adding to the history of western swing music. The Brazos Valley Boys have appeared in countless venues around the globe including Lincoln Center in New York, a tour of Russia, Caesars Palace in Vegas, smaller clubs and concerts across Kansas and the U.S. The BVB were named “Country Music Touring Band of the Year” by Billboard/Cashbox Magazine—14 years in a row. They were chosen Western-Swing Band of the year by the Southwest Western-Swing Association. Morey is a member of five western-swing halls of fame around the U.S. and was elected to the Kansas Music Hall of Fame in 2022. This eight-piece group plays primarily western swing which is comprised of American roots music of blues, jazz, country and swing. It’s an energetic music with many common musical touch points with KC swing/jazz. During the BVB’s history they have released five acclaimed albums and sold thousands of downloads. Their latest album released in 2025 is Turn Us Loose and Let Us Swing is on International Western Music Association’s chart. This group of seasoned professional musicians loves performing and interacting with audiences of all ages.
