オペレーション

Procurement Officer–Topeka–218231

ポジションの概要

Seeking a Procurement Officer to oversee purchasing activities, contract management, and vendor negotiations. This role involves managing requisitions, purchase orders, and encumbrances in SMART, ensuring compliance with state regulations and procurement policies. The Procurement Officer will provide guidance to staff, maintain inventory records, and ensure accurate asset tracking. Attention to detail, initiative, strong analytical skills, and effective communication are key to success in this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as Procurement Officer for the agency, which includes field office locations.
  • Serves as primary contact for procurement issues and serves as the head of any procurement negotiation committee within the agency.
  • Obtaining bids, assisting in the bid process and evaluation of bids for good and services received.
  • Reviews requests for purchases to determine whether to approve for submission to the Office of Contracts and Purchases for competitive bids, takes competitive bids for an agency authorized purchase, to purchase from a state contract or to purchase under the agency’s delegated authority.
  • Assists agency divisions with answering questions concerning contracts, leases, and assists in the preparation of encumbrance documents.
  • Enters necessary contracts and leases into SMART.
  • Serves as the main contact between Commerce Fiscal and Office of Contracts and Purchases on all contract agreements.
  • Handles purchases made on issued BPC with respect to appropriate purchases, pre-auditing, coding, and reconciling in SMART.
  • Works with Building Services and IT staff to ensure proper coding on purchases; assists in recording and tracking of agency inventory. 
  • Enters appropriate assets in the Asset Management module in SMART and periodically reviews assets listed.

Pay Range: $32.00 to $33.50 hourly

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

You’ll manage calendars, meetings, travel, and events, track division budgets, and support the Assistant Secretary in keeping deadlines on track. ポジションの概要

The Statewide LVER leads efforts to expand Veteran employment opportunities across Kansas by researching labor market trends, engaging employers, and promoting participation in federal and state Veteran hiring programs. This role develops statewide outreach campaigns, builds partnerships with employers and economic development organizations, and provides training to workforce staff and partners. The position represents Workforce Services at events, tracks employer needs, and connects businesses with Veteran talent and hiring incentives.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and analyze employer and industry data to identify opportunities for Veteran employment growth across Kansas
  • Increase employer participation in federal and state Veteran programs such as Skill Bridge, HIRE Vets Medallion, Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC), Registered Apprenticeships, and On-the-Job Training.
  • Develop statewide campaigns and promotional strategies to raise awareness of Veteran hiring incentives and resources
  • Partner with local area leadership, business service teams, and economic development organizations to identify priority employers and high-demand industries.
  • Provide training to Workforce Center (WFC) staff and partner agencies
  • Ensure staff understand referral processes so Veterans are connected to appropriate services and employers can access qualified candidates.
  • Collect and share labor market information and employer feedback with workforce staff and leadership
  • Represent Workforce Services at job fairs, hiring events, conferences, and employer roundtables to promote Veteran employment initiatives.

Pay Range: $20.00 to $22.00 hourly

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Veteran Workforce Services Specialist–Great Bend, KS-217630

ポジションの概要

The Veterans Workforce Services Specialist provides case management to assist veterans and other eligible job seekers in achieving employment goals. Delivers targeted services to Unemployment Insurance claimants at risk of exhausting benefits. Conducts outreach to identify and engage eligible veterans, maintains a presence at workforce events, and serves as a liaison with employers to promote and expand the use of Workforce Center services and programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides overview of Workforce services to customers
  • Performs detailed intake and comprehensive assessment interviews to determine job seeker’s education, interests, work history, barriers to employment, economic and family status, and career goals
  • Assists customers with job searches, resume and cover letter preparation, completing applications for employment, holds mock interviews with customers, and educates customer on interviewing techniques
  • Provides customers information about program services, job requirements, occupational opportunities, and training programs and makes referrals to appropriate partner services
  • Maintains electronic case file in KANSASWORKS.com for each participant in accordance with federal and state policies, procedures, regulations and guidelines
  • Provides case management services for Unemployment Insurance claimants identified as likely to exhaust benefits
  • Conducts outreach activities, for the purpose of locating, identifying and seeking referrals of eligible veterans
