The Regional Director position will develop and implement programs to support community and local development efforts focused on business retention, market growth, and community revitalization across Kansas. Represents the agency at various economic development meetings and events. 

This position serves the following counties in Kansas: Clay, Cloud, Dickinson, Ellsworth, Geary, Jewell, Lincoln, Marshall, Mitchell, Morris, Osborne, Ottawa, Pottawatomie, Republic, Riley, Russell, Saline, Smith, Wabaunsee, and Washington.

Responsibilities:

Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the state’s diverse and often complex business and community development programs, including state and federal financing options.

Explains program benefits and application processes to clients in a clear and effective manner.

Assists clients in identifying and utilizing local, state, federal, private, or public resources to advance their projects.

Advocates for stakeholders and promotes collaboration to support community and business development initiatives.

Communicates with entrepreneurs, company executives, and community leaders to support business retention and expansion efforts in Kansas.

Provides technical expertise and strategic guidance to in-state business prospects.

Pay Range: $58,240.00 to $62,400.00 annually

Work Schedule: Mon. – Fri. 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

JVSG Program Manager-Statewide-216842

Resumen del puesto:

This position is responsible for the planning and implementation of the Jobs for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) program, including oversight and monitoring of JVSG staff and services to ensure compliance with federal regulations and performance goals. Provides training and advising to staff to enhance program effectiveness and veteran outcomes. Leads marketing and outreach efforts to promote veteran services and acts as a liaison. The Program Manager will also supervise program personnel to ensure quality service delivery and operational efficiency.

**Statewide requires the candidate to be a resident of Kansas. An office location will be established near your residence**

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the entire process to develop and submit the state application for various grant proposals.
  • Interprets complex federal legislation, rules, and regulations to formulate prescribed standards, practices and procedures governing the administration of veterans’ employment programs and writes state policies and procedures to ensure that program delivery meets federal requirements. 
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal law to maintain a veteran’s employment and training system

  • Utilizing the services of the agency’s Marketing Unit, develops marketing techniques and strategies to promote veterans’ employment through the Workforce Centers.
  • Fully manages process to develop and coordinate annual veterans’ job fairs by partnering with Local Workforce Investment Boards, Commerce staff and employers.
  • Shares in the supervisory duties for all Disabled Veterans Outreach Program (DVOP) staff and Local Veterans Employment Representative (LVER) program staff with local supervisor and/or functional supervisor

Pay Range: $25.00 to $32.00 hourly

*Salary can vary depending upon education, experience or qualifications.

Responsibilities:

Pay Range: $17.39 por hora

Pay starts at $17.39/hr., then staff enter the Kansas Registered Apprentice Program the beginning of the year after hire where pay increases at the end of the first year, and again at the end of the second year.
