What is your background? The principal owners have backgrounds in technology and finance.

What inspired you to start your business? Inspiration struck when we realized that purchasing MASS Medical would be an opportunity to build. We build careers, products, and build up our people. It’s a chance to design and build the best product we can that will better our community and hospitals across the nation.

What do you like about doing business in Kansas? Kansas is a favorable state for businesses to operate. The pool of resources and opportunities in the state of Kansas are immense and contribute to our growth.

What sets your business apart from your competitors? MASS Medical focuses on the clinical aspects of creating medical grade storage. Our obsession is with designing products that reduce hospital-acquired infections, protect valuable medical instruments, and the organization of quick-turn supplies.

How is your business involved in your community? We strive to continually create new jobs and have the people filling those jobs reflecting the diversity of the community. We sponsor a variety of local programs throughout Kansas and Missouri. We are continually looking for non-profit partners who can make good use of our storage cabinets.

Why should your business be included in the minority & women business spotlight? We are a small company on the rise with a team of diverse individuals. It is within our ability to share our successes and inspire other MWBs to rise alongside us.

What was the biggest “win” in your business’ history? MASS Medical’s biggest win was when we flipped the account of the world’s largest endoscope manufacturer, Olympus, by convincing them to make the switch to MASS Medical Storage for their cabinets. We are now featured alongside their endoscopes, making us the premier choice for storing their products.

What’s one valuable lesson you’ve learned that you would share with other business owners? Invest in people and value the diversity and background that they can bring to the table. Hire on ambition, attitude, and intelligence.

Tell us an interesting and fun fact about your business. MASS Medical is an apparel company masquerading as a manufacturing company. Every new release or season, there is new apparel for our employees to model. It’s possible if you’ve worked at the company long enough, you can wear something MASS Medical every day of the week.
