Governor Kelly Announces Kansas Moving Forward with $451.7M High-Speed Internet Deployment Plan Governor Laura Kelly today announced federal approval of the state’s Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD) Initial Proposal Volume 2, providing an investment of more than $450 million to expand Kansas’ high-speed internet infrastructure. The Kansas Office of Innovation provides resources and guidance to help Kansas businesses thrive in the global economy as well as on main street. The office also collaborates with other state agencies, universities, research institutions, and private sector organizations to support innovation across different sectors and regions of Kansas.

The following are the current priorities of the Kansas Office of Innovation and its partners.  These are always changing, adapting, and growing as Innovative Kansans continue tackle the hard issues facing their communities and businesses. 

Small Business R&D Acceleration Grants

The Small Business R&D Acceleration Grants are designed to assist Kansas small businesses in advancing a product or service to commercialization; modifying a product or service to enter a new market; or gaining a new client by leveraging higher education facilities, equipment and expertise.

Kansas Angel Investor Tax Credit Program

The KAITC Program is designed to bring together accredited angel investors with qualified Kansas companies seeking early stage investment. The “Kansas Angels” program helps provide access to capital for Kansas start-ups.”
