Items below are provided in the map.

• Point of Presence or ILA (privately owned) – These represent IXPs or locations not owned by the Freestate network.  These locations may house optical equipment to support the lit services of the Freestate Network.  They are provided for planning purposes.  Since the Freestate Network does not own these locations or assets, any tenant wishing to utilize these locations for re-gen of dark fiber or fiber in duct, will be responsible for negotiating their own space and power at these locations.
• Point of Presence or ILA (KDOT owned) – These are newly designed ILA locations specifically for the Freestate Network fiber.  While the size and capabilities of these locations is currently under review based on provider feedback, the NTIA approved scope was for roadside cabinets which would support the lit transport needs of the Freestate Network only.  As more information becomes available on the final size and design of these locations, more information will be provided. 
•  New Cable & Duct Path NTIA funded – This portion of the path is funded by the NTIA EMMBI grant and will be a full infrastructure build with 7-way innerduct.  This portion of the build supports the fullest complement of Freestate services, including duct lease, dark fiber and lit transport services.
• New Blown Fiber Path NTIA funded – This portion of the path is funded by the NTIA EMMBI grant and will be (minimum) 96 count fiber blown through existing KDOT duct.  This route will only support dark fiber and lit transport services for Freestate Network tenants.  There is no open innerduct available for lease on this path.
• Existing (Un-funded) Cable path – This fiber path represents fiber already installed in the ground and is not part of the NTIA (EMMBI) funded project.  This fiber is owned by Ideatek and has been committed to the project to connect the Freestate Network together to Western Kansas.  12 fibers (6 pairs) will be made available on the same open-access basis for Freestate tenants to utilize for dark and lit services.  There is no open innerduct available for lease on this path.
• Existing vault/handhole location – This represents an interconnect location for gaining access to the existing infrastructure.
• New vault/handhole location – This represents an interconnect location for gaining access to the new NTIA (EMMBI) funded fiber path.

Following feedback from the Industry Roundtable on July 25^th, in the interest of security and privacy, we are not providing street level information (or ownership information) of privately owned co-location facilities not owned by the Freestate network.  However, we understand that it may be helpful to gain a high-level understanding of where lit services will be regenerated, and Freestate equipment may be located so that other providers wishing to utilize dark fiber or duct may seek to obtain similar rack space or colocation services.  This heat map is provided to show the approximate reach of Freestate lit-service offerings, and also an approximate location of the co-location facilities utilized for amplification of those services.
