Registered Apprenticeship Small Business Grants Awarded; New Round Opens Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Commerce David Toland and the Kansas Office of Registered Apprenticeship today announced that $28,000 has been awarded to four small businesses across Kansas for projects that will attract and retain workers and continue building the state’s workforce through apprenticeships. Kansas Tourism Named Destination of the Year, Earns National Marketing Honors The North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA) has awarded three distinguished honors to Kansas Tourism in their annual awards competition, including the respected Destination of the Year award, underscoring the state’s continued commitment to innovative and effective tourism promotion. Grant Applications Open to Expand Rural Registered Apprenticeship Programs Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Commerce David Toland today announced $500,000 in Rural Apprenticeship Innovation for a Strong Economy (RAISE) funding to support the expansion of Registered Apprenticeship programs across rural Kansas. Pilot Commerce Grant to Support Renovating Industrial, Manufacturing Buildings Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Commerce David Toland today announced the launch of the Industrial Renovation for Opportunity and New Economic Development (IRONED) pilot program. Mobile Workforce Center to assist residents in Linwood

Mobile Workforce Center to assist residents in Linwood

Topeka, Kan. – The KANSASWORKS Mobile Workforce Center will be in Linwood today to provide employment services after the tornado.

The Mobile Center will arrive in Linwood at 1 p.m. and set up at the Linwood Elementary School at 215 Park Street, Linwood, KS 66052.

Rapid Response Coordinators will be at the Linwood Library (19649 Linwood Road, Linwood, KS 66052) working to ensure residents know about and can file for unemployment benefits in addition to numerous other benefits available to them through the KANSASWORKS Workforce Centers.

The Mobile Workforce Center may end up moving to the Linwood Library location, as well, later in the day.
