Kansas Commerce Welcomes Matthew Morrison as Program Administrator for Kansas Community Empowerment

The Kansas Department of Commerce is pleased to welcome Matthew Morrison as the new Program Administrator for the Kansas Community Empowerment (KCE) Program.

Matthew joined Kansas Commerce last year as an intern with the Quality Places Division and recently graduated from The University of Kansas in May 2026. In their new role, they will help lead and support communities across Kansas through the KCE Program.

Formerly known as Kansas PRIDE, the Kansas Community Empowerment Program came under the administration of Kansas Commerce in July 2025. The program supports local volunteers and community leaders who are dedicated to strengthening and improving their hometowns across the state.

Matthew shared their excitement about beginning this new chapter with Kansas Commerce: “I’m honored to continue my career with Kansas Commerce and work alongside communities that are passionate about showcasing how great Kansas is.”

The department is excited to see Matthew continue building relationships with Kansas communities and helping support local initiatives through the KCE Program.
