Last month, representatives from the State of Kansas, including International Division Director Jeff Willis, delivered a proclamation from Governor Kelly recognizing the Chinese New Year.

The Kansas City Chinese American Association (KCCAA) held a gala at Yardley Hall to celebrate the Chinese New Year. See the story from the KC Chinese Journal below:

The highlighted text translates as follows:

“This year, our Chinese New Year celebration received supporting Proclamations [congratulatory letters] from Kansas Governor Laura Kelly and Kansas City Missouri Mayor Quinton Lucas. In the Proclamations, Governor Kelly and Mayor Lucas both praised the contributions to our region of the Chinese heritage community as well as the efforts made by KCCAA to strengthen the region and promote cultural exchange. Governor Kelly and Mayor Lucas also wished everyone a Happy Spring Festival! At the same time, Governor Kelly declared January 25 to February 1 the week of Chinese New Year in the State of Kansas.”

International Division Director, Jeff Willis (above), joined the KCCAA at the gala and presented the following Proclamation from Governor Kelly:
