About

Actor, Juggler, Orangutan, Poet and Fool all describe Richard Renner as performs his special brand of humor. Whether juggling, unicycling, ropewalking, or creating a zany improvisation, Richard performs with unbounded energy and skill. He has spent years and a small fortune studying with such teachers as Marcel Marceau – the French mime master, Yuri Belov – a famous Russian clown, and Avner the Eccentric – the famous New Vaudevillian. He is comfortable entertaining a crowd of on or one thousand in any setting. Whether roving or on stage he creates an excitement and visual spectacle hard to forget. All together his performances are marked with laughter, smiles and participation as he uses all he has learned to make us laugh and discover the love of laughter in us all.

Primary Program Description

Stage Shows:

  • The Slapstick Circus
    A one man stage show of 30 to 45 minutes featuring Richard Renner as the VodVill Klown performing circus skills and pantomime techniques. A completely silent act, except for the occasional scream, Richard entertains with physical comedy, prat falls and circus skills.
  • “Read All About It!”
    Through his well crafted comic characters we take a tour of the library and share their favorite books. Each character brings the book to life with Richard’s circus skills.
  • The ReCycle Stage Show!
    Richard Renner, our crazy garbage man, will lead your students through the wonderful world of trash and resources with wacky inventions, circus arts, music and interactive games.

Strolling Shows:

  • HI- Pockets Parade
    The Hi-Pockets is a collection of crazy columnar stilt walking characters. They include a goofy fisherman, an cowboy sheriff, a silent clown, Uncle sam and a cranky grandma. Custom characters are available too!
  • The Recycle Cycle
    The Recycle Cycle is a 4 wheel pedal art car created entirely of reclaimed or recycled parts with hands on activities. It is a rolling lesson in recycling delivered with fun and function.

Program Fee
  • Stage shows: (Slapstick Circus & Recycle Show) $500 + travel expenses
  • Strolling performances: $400 per 60 minute set + traveling expenses
  • Festival all day rate: 3 performances per day (strolling or stage) – 1 day $1200, 2 days – $2100, 3 days – $3000 (travel expenses negotiable)
  • Community Activity: Community Outreach programs are always in combination with other performance services. Pricing is $100-$200 per performance.
  • Educational Activity:
  • Single one hour workshop – $300 + travel expenses
  • All day workshops (up to 4 per day) – $750-$1000 per day
  • All week workshops with a public performance by students is available. Call for quotes.
Community Activity Information

Richard can provide either strolling or stage performances to non profit or youth organizations in the community to promote events and performances he is in.

Educational Activity Information

Circus Skills and Pantomime workshops – Give your Clowns some Class! Richard will present lessons for a variety of age ranges in pantomime, slapstick stunts and circus skills. Single workshops will focus on one of these categories. All day workshops are available to cover all subjects. Desired age range is 8 years to 18 years old.
