Professional Development Institutes are an annual series of professional development events focused on arts organizations of related types and disciplines. These PDIs will provide meaningful leadership development from national leaders in their respective fields and foster peer networks that further develop specific communities of practice.

Kansas Arts Councils Symposium

KCAIC is a partner in organizing and coordinating this event

A symposium for all emerging and established arts councils across the state of Kansas on October 15th, 2021.

The first annual Kansas Arts Councils Symposium will bring together emerging and established arts councils and organizers from around the state of Kansas to facilitate professional development, partnership, and celebration of the arts in our communities. This symposium is hosted by the Arts Council of Johnson County at the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center and is funded in part by the Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission, the Mid-America Arts Alliance, and other municipalities and arts organizations across Kansas.

Association of Kansas Theaters Conference

KCAIC supports and coordinates with the Association of Kansas Theatres for this annual event

After the success of the 2020 conference, Salina Community Theatre is hosting the second annual Association of Kansas Theatres Conference, in partnership with the Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission and with contributions from Salina Arts and Humanities. Kansas-area theatres of all sizes are invited to this conference dedicated to community theatre networking and professional development. A variety of workshops covering topics from theatre management, technical theatre, and creative approaches are presented.
