About

I am a full time visual artist, in Marysville, KS. My main work is fine art oil paintings of automotive art, focusing on cars in the show atmosphere and custom commissions for others. I prefer to work large; my oil paintings have been as large as 48×76″. I also do sign painting and mural work. I have very much come to enjoy creating public art. I have been a part of the implementation of Marysville’s “Black Squirrels on Parade” and have painted six of the current 34 sculptures on display. We are now having a third and final round of squirrels to adorn our town (known as Black Squirrel City) and have been asked to paint some of these as well. I have completed several murals in our community, as well as many indoor and outdoor murals with students during my 16 years teaching at the junior high and high school level. My latest mural is a 20×40′ on the outside wall of a business on our Main Street. Murals tend to be a collaborative effort in the planning of the design, with input from the community or sponsoring group or indivduals. Design work is usually a back and forth effort from all parties until a final approval is satisfied. Wall prep can be done ahead of my painting or included in the quote. I use high quaility artist acrylic mural paint, Nova Color. Final varnish is optional.

Community Activity Information

Murals can be a collaborative effort if desired, including different age groups in the painting application. I could present about the process from start to finish.

Educational Activity Information

Educational activities would be determined by the nature of the mural. I have experience working with kids from Kindergarten age to high school seniors.

Program Fee

My current fee is $40 per hour or $10-30 per square foot depending on the complexity of the design and the wall material to be painted on.
Not included in the price is design work, paint and materials, rental of lift or scaffolding, mileage and accommodations.
