Acting Secretary of Commerce David Toland Touring Hays’ Northwest Business Corridor Tomorrow

Topeka, Kan. – Acting Kansas Secretary of Commerce David Toland will be in Hays Friday to participate in a tour of Hays’ Northwest Business Corridor.

Joining Toland will be 111th District Rep. Barbara Wasinger, R-Hays; 110th District Rep. Ken Rahjes, R-Agra; Deputy Secretary of Transportation Lindsay Douglas, and officials from Ellis County, the City of Hays, GrowHays and the Northwest Kansas Economic Innovation Center.

The event will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at the Ellis County Administrative Center, 718 Main St., Hays, with comments from Rep. Wasinger. The bus tour will include stops at Goodman Energy Center, 1713 230th Ave. and Hess Services, 1789 230th Ave. in Hays.

The Ellis County Commission recently approved $800,000 for improvements along the Northwest Business Corridor. The group also is expected to discuss other economic development opportunities in Ellis County.
