The Office of Minority and Women Business Development promotes business development with a focus on disadvantaged, minority-and women-owned businesses and offers certifications in these areas. Information and referrals are provided in the areas of procurement, contracting and subcontracting, financing and business management. The office also partners with other business advocates to sponsor business education workshops and seminars.

Sage Restoration

Sage Restoration, a restoration business located in Overland Park, was founded in 2010 after its owner made the decision to leave corporate America and make the leap into small business ownership. Since opening as a one-woman show, the company has since grown to employ 10 individuals including six technicians, two project managers, an office manager and a salesperson to develop corporate relationships.
