Kansas is home to a large existing aviation infrastructure. The Kansas Airport System includes 80 National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (NPIAS) airports, eight commercial service airports, of which seven are regional airports and one national airport in Wichita. We also have four airports that have a runway greater 10,000 feet, three of which have runways greater than 12,000 feet.

The system is also home to an abundance of private and publicly accessible helipads and airports that are poised to enable emerging operations and use cases, including 148 public use airports, 229 private use airports, 38 heliports, three military airfields, two glider ports, two ultralight ports, and a balloon port.
