Commerce Awards $380,000 for Rural Counties to Market ROZ Program Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Commerce David Toland today announced $380,000 has been awarded to 40 Kansas counties in the first round of Rural Opportunity Zone (ROZ) Local Marketing Grants. The funds are intended to help counties market the unique ROZ financial incentives available to new residents: Student loan repayment assistance and/or 100% state income tax credit. Small Business R&D Acceleration Grants Application

The R&D Acceleration Grants are designed to assist Kansas small businesses in advancing a product or service to commercialization; modifying a product or service to enter a new market; or gaining a new client by leveraging higher education facilities, equipment and expertise. This grant program partners smaller businesses with Kansas public higher education institutions who will support the business through engagement and mutual benefit. Prospective grant recipients will work with a public higher education institution to complete their research and development project. The recipient could receive a 50/50 matching grant up to $25,000 for research and development cost.
