About

Erin Wood is an active and versatile musician, performing regularly with orchestras, choirs, and chamber ensembles throughout the Midwest region. Erin has been featured as a concerto soloist with the Sunflower Chamber Music Festival, Pittsburg Festival of Arts, Westwood Ensemble, Hays Symphony and Las Vegas Civic Symphony. She performed as Principal Harp and Guest Principal Harp of many ensembles including Reno Chamber Orchestra, Nevada Opera, Utah Festival Opera, Ozark Lyric Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, Kansas City Symphony, Kansas City Chamber Orchestra, Topeka Symphony, Evansville Philharmonic, and Springfield Symphony. Major solo performances include the American Harp Society Institute in Los Angeles, AHS National Conference in New Orleans, Kansas City Harp Days, and at the Kurpiński Music School in Warsaw Poland. Trio Lawrence, comprised of Daniel Velasco (flute), Boris Vayner (viola), and Erin Wood on harp recently released it’s debut album, Fujin’s Dream which can be found on all platforms. https://modernclassicalx.lnk.to/fujinsdream The trio has been featured on Kansas Public Radio Live Day, Ruell Joyce Recital series, KMEA Conference in Wichita, the American Viola Society in Los Angeles. Recently they traveled to Ecuador and performed, taught masterclasses, lessons and coached chamber groups in Quito and Cuenca.

Primary Program Description
  • “My Favorite Things” – This recital presents a wide variety of music in multiple styles, including, jazz, broadway, classical and folk. Includes concert and folk harp.
  • “Christmas around the World” – Erin shares beloved Christmas carols and highlights traditions of many countries.
  • “History of the Harp” – The harp is one of the oldest instruments in the world. Listen to music from different eras and regions as we trace the development of the harp.
  • “The Harp in Ireland” – The harp is the National instrument of Ireland and has a rich musical tradition. Explore the history of Ireland through it’s music.
  • “Dancing Fingers” – This program features music, based in different dance styles, including Sarabande, Tango, Rhumba, and Flamenco.
  • “Pure Imagination” – An exploration of music in movies
  • Trio Recital – This recital includes the famous Debussy Sonata for Flute Viola and Harp played by Trio Lawrence.
  • Duo Recital — Flute and harp

Program Fee

$500 plus travel.

$1000-$1500 for a trio recital
$150 for educational activity
$200 for community activity

Community Activity Information

Community activities could include leading a harp ensemble.

Educational Activity Information

This could include masterclasses, or harp demonstration where people are allowed to try the harp.
