About

Cody is a professional artist and proud owner of Subvert Studio – a tattoo studio and art gallery located in the heart of Salina KS. Every first Friday of the month he opens his doors to local and regional artists, fostering a vibrant and creative community downtown. When he’s not tattooing, you can find him transforming a canvas or a cityscape with mural work. He has also done multiple live painting events dating back to 2007 during his time in Chicago. He is still actively live painting in Kansas. In 2022 he assisted world renowned muralist Tony Sjoman from Sweden with his installation in Salina along with Telmo Miel from The Netherlands during BOOM mural festival.

Cody’s commitment to art and community makes him a cornerstone of Salina’s and Kansas’ art culture. In 2023 Cody’s mural work has left its mark on various communities, including Newton, Junction City, and his hometown of Salina. He is determined to continue creating murals while safeguarding his artistic freedom. To achieve this, he seeks collaborations that align with his artistic vision and values.

By working with partners who appreciate his unique style and respect his creative autonomy, he can maintain the integrity of his art. Community input projects are also welcome. Additionally, Cody aims to secure projects that allow for artistic exploration and personal expression, ensuring that each mural remains a true reflection of his passion and artistic identity. In this way, he can strike a balance between his love for mural art and the preservation of his artistic freedom.
