Global Resources for Kansas’ International Business Ecosystem

Global Resources is an innovative, new sub-division within the International Division of the Kansas Department of Commerce. Our mission is to advance the state’s economic development objectives by cultivating and maintaining resources that bolster Kansas’ participation in international commerce. Amongst state-level economic development organizations across the United States, Kansas is unique in the development of a Global Resources sub-division. This team works across strategic areas to enrich the state’s ecosystem of resources for global business engagement. Our vision is to make this ecosystem one of the most competitive in the country.

Top ecosystems for international business comprise the following strengths:

  • efficient trade infrastructure
  • resilient supply chains
  • access to business talent and skilled workforce
  • access to capital
  • resources to support innovation development
  • connectivity with institutions of higher education
  • cross-cultural communication
  • flourishing international arts and culture
  • thriving hospitality and tourism industry
  • domestic and international networks and partnerships
  • internal and external recognition of the ecosystem as a dynamic environment for business

Through further strengthening our ecosystem for international commerce, Global Resources will create greater opportunities to grow the Kansas economy.

We invite you to explore our new webpages, sign up for our newsletter, and participate in surveys. Watch for webinars, trainings and new programs, and participate in any that match your needs.  If we can be of assistance, reach out to us. The Global Resources team is eager to work with businesses, organizations, communities, higher education and other partners to become an invaluable resource for Kansas.
