The Technical Director is a full-time, salaried exempt position. Benefits include health, vision, dental, 401K, Life Insurance, Employee Assistance Program, holidays, vacation time, and sick leave. The Annual salary range is $35,000-$40,000.

This full-time position plays a key role in ensuring the technical, artistic, educational excellence, and of all productions, classes, and events. The Technical Director is responsible for operating, protecting, and maintaining the technical assets and the Lawrence Arts Center’s performance spaces, while also managing and overseeing the different technical aspects, including lighting, sound, scenic, rigging. Because the Technical Director may be called upon to deal with a wide range of technical issues, this position requires working knowledge of techniques, methods and procedures of theatre, dance, and music productions and presentations. This includes stage, set, sound and lighting design and implementation; stage management; computerized lighting systems; stage carpentry; and applicable safety precautions and procedures. The role may serve a dual role, acting sometimes as a technical expert or advisor, and others as project coordinator.
