Topeka, Kan. – The popular Kansas Main Street program that was re-established in 2019 now has a new look! The new Kansas Main Street logo was unveiled today by the Kansas Department of Commerce to generate excitement and support for the program, which is geared toward revitalizing small, rural Kansas communities.

“With the return of the Main Street program, communities have new access to resources and tools to help breathe new life into their commercial districts,” Secretary of Commerce David Toland said. “I’m excited that we are able to introduce a new program brand that reflects the vibrancy of our Kansas Main Street communities.”

Kansas currently has 25 Main Street communities, which are locally operated and funded. Communities can apply to be recognized as a state Main Street program, gaining them access to additional technical services, networking and training opportunities. The program is designed to spur new investment and create new jobs. “By engaging in preservation-based economic development, we can help celebrate community character, preserve local history and generate significant economic returns for Kansas,” Kansas Main Street Director Scott Sewell said.
