About

The Radicles are an eclectic rock band from the heart of the heartland, Salina, Kansas. The broad range of genres they play—ranging from blues- and country-inflected, to psychedelic, progressive, even metal—reflect the wide influences and inspiration of their members. Listeners may also catch snippets of jazz, classical, folk, funk, and global melodies and rhythms from a band that embraces curiosity and experimentation.

The Radicles emphasize strong songwriting, with interesting chord and tempo changes. The band focuses mainly on original music, but the group also performs interpretations of their own favorite artists. The band’s members each have extensive performing experience in their own right and collectively bring their expertise and professionalism to the band. Members include:

Anita Chase: voice/guitar. Anita has sung, played, written, toured and released albums with bands from country to hard rock across the Midwest, chiefly rockgrrl power trio 1/2 Mad Poet from Wichita and Americana-styled Matthew Morgan & the Lost Brigade on CAU Dog Records in Chicago.

Bill Martin: bass guitar/voice; retired after twenty-eight years as a philosophy professor at DePaul University in Chicago, so that he could make music and write philosophy full-time in Salina, Kansas. His playing comes out of the period of Motown, the Beatles, and classic rock – especially British progressive rock such as King Crimson and YES.

Rodney Goodwin: keyboards/guitar/voice/percussion; came from a background in leading and creating worship music. These experiences helped develop his strong improvisational skills and a love for the theatrical rock of the 70s led to an ability to play both dramatic solos and create atmospheric mood.

The Radicles first album, Seed, was released in 2021. The band is currently working on its second recording.
