Governor Laura Kelly today announced that the Kansas Department of Commerce is accepting nominations for the 2026 Governor’s Exporter of the Year Award.
The Governor’s Exporter of the Year Award is one of the highest honors the governor gives annually to best-in-class companies conducting international business from Kansas. These businesses are recognized as examples of our state’s excellence in exporting to countries around the world.
“Our exporting companies have a huge impact on the state’s economy by powering jobs, building strong communities, and growing opportunities in Kansas,” Governor Laura Kelly said. “Nominating a business for this prestigious award is a meaningful way to show appreciation and gratitude for the work these companies are doing not only in Kansas communities, but in markets across the globe.”
The Kansas Department of Commerce’s International Division and the Kansas International Trade Coordinating Council (KITCC) coordinate the nomination process.
“With 95% of the world’s consumers living outside of the United States, exporting companies are an essential pillar in our state’s growing economic success,” Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Commerce David Toland said. “As Kansas continues to move up in the world of economic development — it’s important we take time to acknowledge the work these exporting businesses have done and continue to do to further our state’s global presence.”
To be eligible, companies must be in good standing with the State of Kansas and currently operate in and export from Kansas. Nominations must be received by April 3, 2026.
