DELIVERABLE 2 AND DOCUMENTATION

Your grant contract will include 2 deliverables. The first deliverable is simply to sign the contract. That will trigger your first payment, which will be 1/2 of your grant award. If your award is $10,000, your first payment will be $5,000. The second deliverable needs to be something you can prove you have achieved, and should be something you’ll accomplish around the time you have expended the full amount of the first payment. Once you have achieved the second deliverable and expended the first payment, you can request the second payment, which will be the remainder of your funds. You will also provide documentation of achieving the second deliverable, and that documentation must prove you achieved the deliverable.

What makes a good Deliverable 2? What makes good documentation?

A deliverable should be a milestone, and the documentation will prove you achieved it. Deliverables should be concise – a couple of phrases, or 1 sentence at most. Think about what you can be held accountable for. Documentation is how you illustrate that you have completed the deliverable. Documentation should be specific and easily qualifiable as related to the deliverable.
