My ReEmployment Plan Program

The Kansas Legislature recently passed HB 2196, which includes the implementation of the My Reemployment Plan (MRP) program. With few exceptions, any claimant who receives three (3) consecutive weeks of unemployment payments is automatically a part of MRP. Once you are eligible for MRP, you will receive an email or letter via USPS with instructions. MRP claimants are required to provide the Kansas Department of Commerce (KDC) the following within seven (7) days of being notified of MRP eligibility:

  1. Resume—Create or upload your resume in KANSASWORKS.com. Resume must be in Active Status
  2. Work History
  3. Skills List (part of the Job Search Plan Form)
  4. Job Search Plan Form

HB 2196 requires the KDC report to the Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL) any claimant who fails to provide the three required elements. Failure to do so may cause a denial of the claimant’s benefits. If and/or when a claimant completes all of the required elements, the KDC will report that information to the KDOL, and KDOL will make a re-determination and contact the claimant.
