Commerce Celebrates Community Development Block Grant Awards Across State The Kansas Department of Commerce celebrated the success of the 2025 Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) this week by bringing together representatives from 50 Kansas communities, statewide grant administrators, legislators and members of the Kansas congressional delegation. Kansas Tourism Fuels Visitor Experiences with $1 Million in Attraction Development Grants Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Commerce David Toland today announced that $1 million in Attraction Development Grant funding was awarded to support the development and enhancement of tourism projects across Kansas. Rural Opportunity Zones are the 77 Kansas counties that have been authorized to offer one or both of the following financial incentives to new full-time residents: Kansas state income tax waivers for up to five years and student loan repayments up to $15,000 over 5 years.

Opportunity Zones 2.0

Opportunity Zones are designated low-income census tracts where investors can receive federal tax incentives for making long-term investments.
