Governor Kelly Announces $14M Capital Investment Creating 110 Jobs in Wellington Governor Laura Kelly announced today that Elite Harness is investing $14 million, creating 110 new jobs, in Wellington. Commerce Grants Available for Rural Mural and Public Art Projects The Kansas Department of Commerce today announced a total of $75,000 is available for a new round of Rural Mural and Public Art program funding. The program helps rural communities design engaging new art that improves the local aesthetic – making the community more appealing not only for those who live there but for potential new businesses and residents as well. Kansas awarded nearly $1 million from USDA to assist with rural digital divide The Kansas Office of Broadband Development (KOBD) has been awarded nearly $1 million from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Utilities Service through its new Broadband Technical Assistance (BTA) grant program. The $997,000 grant will fund pre-engineering design studies in six rural Kansas counties to help reduce costs and identify avoidable barriers as broadband is deployed there. View All

Public Art & Murals Grant

 Connecting communities through public art & mural projects

KCAIC supports public art programs across all Kansas communities. This program is designed to utilize artists and arts organizations to increase community vibrancy and provide space for artistic expression and public engagement.

Award Details

Maximum Request – $10,000

1:1 match required (for a $10,000 award, $10,000 – match required, of which 75% may be in-kind, except for rural communities with a population less than 15,000 for which 100% of the match can be in-kind)

All grant activities and expenditures must take place within the grant period, July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025. Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. CST on Friday, February 23, 2024. See below for more information on eligibility, guidelines, and application details.

Eligible Applicants

Established 501c3 organizations, units of local government, federally recognized tribes

Be incorporated in Kansas and in good standing with the state

Have fulfilled all outstanding contractual obligations with KCAIC

Have a SAM UEI number. Click here for more information

Community engagement component (see application for details), State Historic Preservation Office review

Application Period

Applications will be accepted January 12, 2024 – February 23, 2024 through Submittable.
