Kansas Office of Broadband Development recognizes the importance that connectivity plays in thriving and growing communities. We look forward to supporting engagement efforts across the state to make the most of this historic investment.
The Kansas Office of Broadband Development (KOBD) is reaching out to communities across Kansas to equip them with information to engage with providers to support broadband buildout. With the allocation of $451.7 million, KOBD has submitted our plans to deploy along with the scoring criteria for awards. We recognize the value of community centered design and have made that nearly 10% of the overall grant application points.
The goal of these workshops is to inform and engage communities about BEAD, and to directly involve residents in solutions that ensure their community is universally connected. As locations, dates and times are arranged you will be able to register here. If you are unable to register, please just join us! These meetings will take place early March to end of April.

KOBD has created a Broadband Breakdown Video Series, which breaks down Regional Workshop content into micro learning sessions. These are posted below and available any time.
We’re delighted to invite you join us as we continue our efforts to support communities in their pursuit of universal connectivity through Broadband Expansion and Access Development (BEAD) initiatives.
These office hours are scheduled to take place following the regional planning workshops. Their purpose is to provide additional resources and assistance to communities that may need further support in implementing solutions discussed during the workshops.
If you participated in one of our regional planning workshops and have questions, need clarification, or require additional assistance, these office hours are here to help. Our team will be available to address your concerns and provide guidance on next steps.
While participation in the regional planning workshops is not a prerequisite for joining our office hours, we encourage anyone with an interest in BEAD initiatives to attend. Together, we can work towards ensuring that every member of our community has access to reliable broadband connectivity.
