Regional Planning & Community Engagement

The Kansas Office of Broadband Development (KOBD) is reaching out to communities across Kansas to equip them with information to engage with providers to support broadband buildout. With the allocation of $451.7 million, KOBD has submitted our plans to deploy along with the scoring criteria for awards. We recognize the value of community centered design and have made that nearly 10% of the overall grant application points.

Broadband Breakdown Video Series

KOBD is creating a Broadband Breakdown Video Series, which breaks down Regional Workshop content into micro learning sessions. These will be posted below and available any time. Additionally, you are welcome to sign up for distribution list to receive first alerts when these are available to view.

Virtual Office Hours

We’re delighted to invite you join us as we continue our efforts to support communities in their pursuit of universal connectivity through Broadband Expansion and Access Development (BEAD) initiatives.

These office hours are scheduled to take place following the regional planning workshops. Their purpose is to provide additional resources and assistance to communities that may need further support in implementing solutions discussed during the workshops.

If you participated in one of our regional planning workshops and have questions, need clarification, or require additional assistance, these office hours are here to help. Our team will be available to address your concerns and provide guidance on next steps.

While participation in the regional planning workshops is not a prerequisite for joining our office hours, we encourage anyone with an interest in BEAD initiatives to attend. Together, we can work towards ensuring that every member of our community has access to reliable broadband connectivity.

None of these times work for you? Please reach out to Partnerships Coordinator, Shelley Paasch ([email protected]) and schedule a time to connect.

In addition to the planning sessions, KOBD is honored to engage with the Sovereign Nations within Kansas:

  • Iowa of Kansas and Nebraska
  • Kickapoo
  • Prairie Band Potawatomi
  • Sac and Fox

If you represent one of the Sovereign Nations above and would like to connect. Please email [email protected].

Thank you!

Kansas Office of Broadband Development recognizes the importance that connectivity plays in thriving and growing communities. We look forward to supporting engagement efforts across the state to make the most of this historic investment.
