The Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission, renamed the Kansas Arts Commission, was established in 2012. Since its inception, it has sought federal grant funding provided by the National Endowment of the Arts to implement various grants programs designed to foster the arts and their impact on employment development within Kansas.

Eligible Projects must:
- be part of a broader strategy to improve the fiscal health of the organization and increase participation in programs and services.
- NOT include purchases of individual items worth $5,000 or higher.
Construction, purchase, or renovation of facilities are not eligible.
