Self-Supported Municipal Improvement District

A Self-Supported Municipal Improvement District (SSMID) is Kansas is a taxing mechanism created by a city under the Self-Supported Municipal Improvement District Act (K.S.A. 12-1794) in 1982 to fund specific public and private improvements and services within a defined, commercially or industrially zoned, and contiguous area.
